ABOUT

PERSONAL TESTIMONY

Born to immigrant parents, from the first breath as an infant the world labeled young Bryan Martinez (DJ Vow) as a failure. Having an agnos-tic alcoholic for a father and a rebellious protes-tant for a mother, his future was far from being raised in any form of organized religion or spiri- tual teaching. It was through this dysfunctional home that DJ Vow learned firsthand the hard- ships that come with having parents that are far from God.

As a kid he was dragged to church by his two older brothers (reformed gang members), Vow clearly recalls sitting in his first church service at the age of 8. This was a practice that would eventually lead DJ Vow to accept Christ as his personal lord and savior. Unfortunately, family members, pop culture, and peer pressure quickly influenced him and drove him off his relationship with God. This was a short journey that ended in a complete surrender, and rededication to Jesus at the tender age of 13. Vow's teenage years consisted not only of youth groups and Christian student events, but also of a divorce torn family and a neighborhood polluted with gangs, poverty and a multitude of other criminal activities. Often left in a solidified stage of unanswered prayers and restless nights, DJ Vow managed to endure those painful and agonizing adolescent years without complete rebellion. This became the platform for DJ Vows ministry.

Utilizing the sounds of this generation, DJ Vow administers the Gospel of Jesus Christ through a pair of turntables and mixer, exceeding above and beyond the "Christian DJ" guidelines (Eph 3:20). Vow is also an advocate of music who in fact is very aware of the industry as well as pop culture in America. Taking to heart the principles taught by the Apostle Paul, Vow has become a relevant DJ to effectively reach those within his society (1 Cor. 9:22).

Through his ventures as a servant, DJ Vow has had the honor to perform in many churches, schools and venues throughout the United States. Excelling in both creativity and skill, he is able to break down walls of mediocre stereo- types in Christ-centered music and present a safe and fun environment. Whether on stage or in the studio, DJ Vow brings forth a new element with his innovative remixes, energetic beat matching and scratching, it's no surprise he is often labeled by the audience as the "Next Level DJ".

Alongside their daughter, DJ Vow and his wife reside in Fort Worth, TX and are active members of Fellowship Church. Having a passion to serve in the local church, Vow is in the leadership team of their youth department as well as a vital part of the Sunday services. DJ Vow also Deejays every Wednesday at "The Mix", the Jr. High and Sr. High student service at Fellowship Church (Fort Worth Campus) and has been featured in major Fellowship Church events such as the C3 Con- ference (c3conference.com) and Allaso Ranch (allasoranch.com).
